Memorial Day – 2023
The 2023 Memorial Day Observance was an inspiring event. How impressive to see representatives from the Junior ROTC programs from Pierce County schools representing all of the military services. It was also impressive to hear Cadet Captain Jake Goodall, from the Marine Corps JROTC program at Kentwood High School, deliver an emotional keynote address.
An ensemble from the 133rd Army Band, WA Army National Guard provided the music for the program in a professional manner. American Legion Post Two, from Parkland laid a commemorative wreath at the memorial.
There was a good size crowd in attendance, and all were invited back to the post for a lunch with entertainment by our own Bob Wangen.
